A Miele oven that shows an F-code is telling you the control has caught a specific fault, and Miele's system is precise enough that the code usually points close to the cause. On steam and combi-steam ovens, several of the common codes relate to the water system, which in Highlands Ranch often means scale rather than a failed part.
The Common Miele Oven Codes
| Code | Typical Meaning | What We Do |
|---|---|---|
| F70 | Water level or float fault (steam models) | Descale, check the water system and float |
| F14 | Water intake or drain fault | Clear the water path, test the pump or valve |
| F11 | Temperature sensor fault | Ohm-test the sensor, replace if out of range |
| Fxx recurring | Control or heating circuit | Test the control and heating element |
Water, Scale, and Sensors
On a steam or combi oven, an F70 or a water-related code frequently comes back to scale from Highlands Ranch's moderately hard water building up in the water system, or to a float or level sensor that needs cleaning. Running the oven's descaling program often clears a water code, which is why we recommend descaling on schedule. A sensor code, by contrast, points to a temperature sensor that has drifted and needs testing.
When to Call
A code that returns after descaling, a sensor fault, or an oven that will not heat needs a technician with a meter. Our Miele maintenance guide covers descaling and prevention, and our dishwasher F11 guide covers Miele dishwashers.
