Dacor built its reputation on cooking appliances with strong design and modern controls, and the two Dacor problems we are called for most are igniter faults and oven codes. Both respond to keeping the burners clean and the electronics reading accurate temperatures. A little routine care keeps a Dacor range dependable.
The Units This Covers
Dacor Modernist and Heritage ranges, Dacor wall ovens, and gas and induction cooktops.
Range and Cooktop
- Keep burner caps and igniters clean and dry so burners light on the first click.
- On dual-fuel and gas ranges, confirm the flame is a clean blue and adjusted for altitude.
- On induction, keep the glass and cooling vents clear.
Oven
- Check the oven against a separate thermometer and watch for drift.
- Inspect the door gasket and hinges so the seal is tight during long bakes.
- Keep the oven sensor probe clean; a fouled sensor feeds the control bad data and can trigger codes.
| Task | How Often | Protects |
|---|---|---|
| Clean igniters and caps | Monthly | First-click lighting |
| Oven thermometer check | Twice a year | Accurate baking |
| Inspect door gasket | Twice a year | Even heat, energy use |
| Wipe oven sensor | As needed | Accurate readings, fewer codes |
When to Call
A burner that will not light after cleaning, an oven code that returns, or an oven that will not heat needs a technician. Our oven code guide and igniter guide cover the causes.
